First Dreamliner passengers sing new jet's praises
By Ben Mutzabaugh, USA TODAY

"The windows," said Flight 7871 passenger Stephanie Wood of Davie, Fla., when asked about her favorite feature on the 787. "You really notice it and it makes the plane feel so bright and like you're not shut in," added Wood, who also joined the flight via the charity auction after she and her husband, Dean, successfully bid on a pair of business-class tickets. The couple would not divulge the price they paid.

Dean and Stephanie Wood also auction winners said they were onboard to “be a part of it.” Wood owns an aviation spare parts company in Florida and has been committed since their trip aboard the inaugural A380 flight, “to find a way to be on the Dreamliner’s first flight.”

'Game-changing' 787 touches down as it aims to revolutionise the future of air travel

'It's silly, but it's a little piece of history. New cars come out all the time but how often do new planes come out?' said Stephanie Wood, who bought two business-class seats in a charity auction.

Other passengers included a couple from Florida, Dean and Stephanie Wood, who are both heavily involved in the aviation industry and had paid an undisclosed amount for two business-class seats at a charity auction. "The best thing about the plane is the lighting system, and the way it changes the colouring of the ceiling to match the sky," Ms Wood said. "I spend my life in planes and, believe me, this is what people will notice."

then there was a couple, the Woods’ that bought a pair of seats. And they just said they love to fly. They think this plane is great and they want to be part of history.

NORRIS: Were they satisfied?

MAYEROWITZ: I think so. What I found really funny was they paid all this money for this business-class seat and they were back in coach with everybody else. They wanted to party. They wanted to talk to people. They wanted to experience the plane.
